By law, the broker is supposed to reveal that information to you, if you ask.
    The law isn't enforced though.
That's been on trucking news sites recently.

    Right.
You know how many times brokers told me "that's all I got in the load"?
You know how many times I believed that, zero.

There is a thread on here about that. I can't find it, but remember reading it. The broker is required to show you on paper, but it's not being enforced. I think OOIDA is suing over that.

Funny to me the same guys that ##### about brokers is the same guys that make their living with them.... Ever heard the term dont bite the hand that feeds u ? What does it matter what a broker makes ? Nobody cares about how much the grocery store is buying their meat for from the processor and then marking it up to you... all retailers buy their product at low prices and then mark it up to the end consumer.... So what is the difference between brokers ? That is their customer, their contract, their supplier. The deal u have is with the broker directly not the supplier. So what does it matter what they are making off of it ? If you wanna find out then go out and get the customer yourself and cut out the brokers

This is true. They force the driver to waive his or her right to it, or when it is requested they either don't comply with the law, or put that driver and or carrier on the do not use list. Brokers have been doing this for years. You are correct that the DOT knows this and they do not enforce it. But DOT has no problem forcing every other law pertaining to trucking....

Just think we are in 2020, the amount of technology we have and yet we still use the ancient ways of calling back and forth with middle man brokers.

I believe the way the regulation is written that once you've completed the load you can request the total invoice of what the broker made. This way you would know for next time. Like that broker is ever going to use you again.

    alds and RESE314 Thank this.
