Oklahoma state police trooper fatally shot a truck driver during a traffic stop

If you're going to argue with the officer be pleasant and polite. Well, at least polite. It works.

A local Oklahoma news station took some video from their helicopter. It looks like the truck says E & I Trucking. I looked online and that comes back to a one man operation out of Laredo, TX,

The truck looks relatively well taken care of. The owners home looks like he’s a family man. I know we don’t have all the details yet but this doesn’t look right to me. Barring this guy running drugs, it looks like he got killed for contempt of cop. I can’t wait to see the body cam video.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol hasn’t released either the driver or the involved officer’s name a week after the shooting. This doesn’t smell right.

I called the OHP press liaison and she flat refused to give me any contact information of who was in charge of the investigation. The info is going to the Creek County district attorney who will make the call on any charges. Called them trying to get a handle on where it’s at and when it could be done but got nowhere.

Spent the next two hours on the phone with news channels trying to drum up interest in the story. Turns out KOCO and KFOR filed Freedom of Information Act requests on Monday because they felt like they were getting stonewalled too.

Creek County D.A. just called back and said he hasn’t seen the dash camera video yet and that since there was no offender in jail it, frankly, lessened the urgency of closing the investigation.

 

It actually smells about right.

Or maybe he leased it to another carrier. Can't read the text on the side of the cab, but it looks different from what's on the door.
