So I've been waiting to get on with OD while I gain a year's worth of experience...

Their hiring for P&D in my area, but they also have a Container Drayage position as well...

I just can't find any info about it anywhere...

Anyone know how they operate week to week? and what the hours and pay is?

I see them all the time coming out of the port...

And how often are you away from home?

    thanks

Don't know about the container side, P&D is monday through friday with an occasional saturday delivery for whoever volunteers. Those runs start typically between 8 and 10 am.

Not positive, but I think that most of the container positions are owner ops. Best thing you can do if you're seeing lots of OD cans in your area is to call the nearest service center and ask to speak to someone about it. Might want to learn more about that type of work too. I hear that ports and rail yards are a major pain.

Not sure about container. P&D or linehaul is the only way to go with OD.

From what I've heard the Drayage job is completely separate from the rest of OD. They get paid less than regular P&D drivers and your seniority probably wouldn't transfer if you eventually went to P&D, but it may be a way to get your foot in the door.

Yeah after I just drove only 3 hours to D.C. I thought to myself..

"Do I really want to drive long distances all the time"

    And I said "no"

Yeah I think I'm definitely going to try to get on as a P&D driver at OD
