Ahhh yes, its not a true freightliner without some mix and match parts.

That was my first ever go around with any type of body panel replacement. Ever. Not that it was difficult at all but I sure was proud lol.

Paint and repair this spring after winter is done. Someone else will be handling that. I can barely use a rattle can properly.

It's all good. It blends in with all the other freightliners on the road now. All jokes aside, it's a work in progress and I'm just giving you crap.

Bean Jr. and singlescrewshaker Thank this.

I don't know about other brands, currently. The FLD 120 95-99, I have easily found the parts needed for repair. Usually in stock at the dealers. Or available after a couple days for shipping. Reasonably priced.

My truck has only been towed 2 times since I bought it in 2013. Trans failure, air compressor failure oh and a 3rd when I had the truck towed from one shop to another when I had the motor replaced last May.

Before this truck I drove several IH 9670 COE. I was able to get most parts for those trucks also.

A truck is a tool, regardless of brand, make or model. If it does its job and you like it.....thats what counts.

I have been surprised at the availability of everything for this truck. Only two two things I had trouble with.

    1) cab airbags still not in. Been a month
    2) Motomirrors. Freightliner cant order them and Peterbilt has no answer to lead time.

Old trucks are never ready to roll. @singlescrewshaker truck needed at least 10 days worth of work to make it freight ready and it still doesn’t have the AC working. C5B55917-856D-4308-B56C-5CC1D1D19718.jpeg 68BD556E-D3EB-4737-B8D7-8F77CCEE3B70.jpeg 4CE4F0BC-B2A3-4415-9774-C9BF2E4287E0.jpeg

Mine needed a ton of work to get rolling too. I just kinda fixed it up as I went along. Still have a full page of needed repairs and upgrades 6 years later.

Looks like a good base to start off with to me..? Although I can be slightly bias when it comes to FLD's..

I'm in the same boat. Trying to learn how to keep her up, & make it better along the way..

Look forward to seeing your progress, hope she treats you well..
