Is seeing a billboard for a new fuel station that has truck lanes with unbeatable low diesel prices. My eyes get big and I throw on the Jake brake to hit the exit ramp.

One of the best parts of being an O/O for me was, "I'm not coming in today",,,
back street slider, D.Tibbitt, fordconvert and 9 others Thank this. -
Sorry, truck won't start. "did you try?" Nope I didn't even plug it in!
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
I had no problem doing that, except I didn't make any money. If they gave me any guff, I'd say, buy your own truck and put a driver in it. That usually settled it right there.

Every part of this job. except repair bills, is better from the O/O side. I used to dread it when we were assigned a grueling coast to coast run. Now I just smile while I count the dollars.
back street slider, TruckRunner, 77fib77 and 3 others Thank this. -
I never knew coast to coast paid.
DUNE-T Thanks this. -
Best part of being an O/O (for me)...pointing MY tractor and trailer where I wanted to wind up to get reloaded. Being a true professional,, taking pride in an industry that has lost so much over the decades.
back street slider, old time, Pete jockey and 5 others Thank this. -
Picking up at a shipper that makes rubber conveyors and they tell you that you can cut all the old scrap you want for strap protectors! (my ears here free!)
LOL just happened today and now I have enough for life! I guess I am a little over excited about it....free!Last edited: Oct 23, 2018

Based on my dad "working from the first day when the temperature hits 70 thru the first freeze coming back to work like I never left"

I'd have to say the places I get to go. All that other stuff is awesome too but the biggest benefit is 1. MONEY I make more than I ever have and with no degree.
2. The places I get to go. Today I got to drive all around a Navy shipyard. Their fault for sending me all over to figure out where they wanted their stuff. I was cool with it. No one gets to see the stuff we get to see.20 Mule Team Thanks this.
