I like cruising down at 65. It’s just when I need to pass it would be much easier on everyone if I can bump it up to 70-72 until I pass.

I worked for a company that was 100% US Mail and mostly local. They had cameras in every truck, company car, and shop trucks. They are even reimbursing up to $130 for Bluetooth headsets.
With all that they still settle most cases because the back and forth and possible trial is usually more expensive.
It’ll never change because the big companies the ATA know it makes it hard for the small companies to stay in business. -

I like driving my 77 mph governed truck at 62 or 63 .
Great fuel mileage and tire wear .
Low stress and easy on MY truck .PE_T, MGE Dawn and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
Governed trucks promote unsafe driving imo. A 62 mph truck will try and go 62 all the time no matter what. Trying to make time. A responsible driver in an ungoverned truck will make time when safe and slow down when called for. In the end getting there faster and safer

Last job, the truck I drove was governed at 63.
The worst part about it is dealing with the people who don't use cruise control and vary their speed between 55-65.
They slow you down, but you can't pass them.RockinChair and PE_T Thank this. -

If I got set to 62 I'd quit on the spot. You're more likely to get into an accident going that slow. You won't make as much money. You'll be pissed off all the time.
