Thats really open ended... Guess it depends whether or not they are actually looking, and if they like your qualifications.

 

I filed 4 online apps and 2 responded. One I called back and said they "were just entering in the app as I called".

be very careful when filling out one of those. you always want to make sure there is the HTTPS in the address bar, and the "padlock" in the lower corner (if you're using Internet Explorer).

i went to one company web site, a company that hires drivers and places them at various accounts, and as i was browsing through the application, there weren't any HTTPS or the pad lock. this tells me its not a secure web site, and my valuable information like my social security number can be at risk.

but other than those 2 warnings, yes, you might get a call.

I 100% agree with Buck here, I'm a littl leery, but I'm a lot leery of posting my sensative info on a an application mill site.

As a nuub about to graduate from CDL school in a couple of weeks I've been searching and searching for companies to apply with. I do use the afore mentioned application mill websites but only to get company names and or websites and apply directly to that company. By doing this I can better review the company's info instead of using stale info of the application mill sites. It also lets me look at the security of the company that I'm applying at. I've printed off many many aplications and either faxed or mailed them. I usually follow up the fax with a phone call that day to make sure that the fax was received and then a week or so later with another phone to see how my application is going and if they need any additional information. For mailed applications I've received calls on all of them with in a day or so.

Coming outta school I'll have pre-hires or letters of intent to hire from 8 or 10 companies... maybe more.

I like using them,I have in the past also. A good point to these sites,I think myself,is it allows you to really think out and decide what type of driving job you might like,especially newbees,you can ask the serious questions to them and get an email answer right from that company in writing,then if there is a problem down the road you have what you had understood in writing,versa,a telephone answer from a recruiter. Sometimes you can the personal human supervisor to email all your info,that is even better for you. I have also in the past have lease contracts copies sent to me by fax or email and could study full the pors and cons of that deal,but lease purchase deals aren't ussually good deals,that I would ever recommend. Just my little opinion,of course!

 

I put myself on the market two years ago via one of the sites that makes you available to all of their member companies. To this day, I still get a couple of calls per month from JB Hunt, birthday greetings from USA Carriers, and a few recruitment postcard every week from various trucking companies. JB will not take no for an answer, ever.

 

Id stay away from online apps...call the co you are interested in directly and talk to a recruiter. Only use online apps when you dont have a fax to send/recieve an app. and only when its a secure site.
Dont fill out the apps on general recruiting sites, you will get every scum and thier brother calling and mailing you for years.

Smart choice on the app. Mail that thing don't use an unsecured website. Better to wait than to have your identity stolen
