I am a current Werner Employee on the Family Dollar Dedicated out of Odessa TX. So far they have treated me great. I'm typically home every weekend give or take a day. The miles are there and I cant complain about the pay.

    jdsouza and JimTheHut Thank this.

    CColvin,

I start orientation at Werner on Monday down in GA. I'll try to send an update from time to time about my experiences with them in the coming weeks. (hopefully, they will be positive comments as well).

I drove for them. Can say I was happy when I was there.

I ran hard and did my part. Had a good dispatcher that did hers.

Was succesful and productive. Made good money and enjoyed

what I did. Not to mention was very good at it. So with that being said.

With all things aside, I drove for them and can't say many

bad things about them. Only regret I got hurt and had to leave.

My performance was beginning to suffer as a result of the injury so it

was the best thing to do.

(btw, Something ive learned the hardway. If you are ever hurt, dont be afraid to report it!)

What's the difference? A trailer is a trailer, it doesn't make any difference what the logo on the side reads. That person still works for Werner.

    venne Thanks this.

    ummmmm..ALOT..and i'm not trying

to tell you off or start a fuss by no means. Do you think if you

were on a fd accnt pullin fd trlrs one day in a werner unit

and the next day schneider took over the account and you stayed..

Do you think you would notice a whole lot of difference? Dont think

it has a whole lot to do with being employed by werner, you work for fd.

if you were working at and you'll notice that I wrote "at" and not "for" a Family Dollar facility and you were working for Werner, and Schneider took over that facility, you would not be working there any longer unless you become a Schneider driver. Not a Family Dollar employee. The drivers who work for a particular carrier work for the carrier and are paid by the carrier not by Family Dollar.

Sorry Jim, didnt mean to get off the subject of your thread... And I have to say things are still going pretty well so far, a few little glitches but nothing that can't be worked out with communication.
