Opinion on INTERNATIONAL LT SLEEPER - CUMMINS, X15..
I found 2018 INTERNATIONAL LT SLEEPER - CUMMINS, X15, 450 HP Auto for good price.. ,
In general average how many miles international semi-trucks can last.. will there be frequent maintenance and repairs compare other manufacturers such as Kenworth or Freightliner..

You're gonna get a wide variety of answers on this.

I personally have no experience with the International LT trucks, so take this for a grain of salt. But the last International I drove was a 2008 IH 9200i. I loved everything about it except the Cat engine and auto shift transmission. But that's another story for another thread. Was probably the nicest riding truck I'd driven up to that point in my career. Interior was laid out very well.

All that being said, you can buy a Kenworth and in two years it'll be trash if you do no maintenance. Likewise, you can buy an International and it'll last 2 million miles or more if you maintain it properly.

It's all in how it's maintained.

Haven’t seen to many issues with these units besides the typical DEF issues that everyone has. Just make sure every Cummins recall has been done and have that serial number on the clutch checked out to make sure it’s not one of the bad ones.

I have a 2018 international LT, X15 efficiency (with a Pittsburgh power tune) it had 324K when I bought it, just turned 400K this week. It’s a 10 speed, I drove an automatic, but didn’t like the way it shifted.

I had a diesel force cleaning done, an overhead ran, and had the tune done a few months after I bought it. I put all new tires, brakes and drums, and shocks all the way around within the last 7 months.

Its been a good truck, it was a fleet truck, so I’m sure minimal maintenance was performed before I bought it, but now I take good care of it.

Check the exhaust flex section between the turbo and DOC inlet. They break there all the time.
