For a first time sign in-post, you must be either -

    Bored
    A current truck stop CEO,
Or an investor looking to build said truck stops.

There’s many here that can give some solid advice about truck stop design. Just ask.

Like @TripleSix said - I’m after lots of parking, and that’s about it.

    But come clean.

free coffee with my fill up. a sign at the front letting me know how many spaces are open so I don't waste my time. when I have an oversize and have paid for parking, don't make me get a manager outside to kick someone out of my spot

    cybill234 and Oldironfan Thank this.

    Actually - you’re right.

After $500 through your pumps, some decent free coffee would be appreciated.

So would cleaning up trash that parks on your fuel islands for nothing when I need to get fuel and go,

AND, if I’m 100 feet long and 15 wide, I’m looking for real estate, not postage stamps.

A parking lot that doesn't smell like old piss so bad it makes you cringe.

We don't need more truck stops presently if states and fed would build large truck parking areas in key areas around the nation. These would take a lot of pressure off of current and future truck stops.

You want to talk about desperately needed "infrastructure" projects? That's what we must have if all future freight movement demands can be met in the future.

We need about 200 areas like Indiana did between Richmond and Indianapolis, spread out across the nation in key areas.

The fed wants every truck to stop safely for x hours each week, they need to help provide safe and spacious areas that can accommodate 200-300 trucks at any given time, and the trash they will generate.

I want to know why PFJ is the only chain with more than one store on a exit or street.

Should be spaces only for over size.

Because Flying J merged in with Pilot many years ago and really few if any locations were closed. Also PFJ has since bought up several regional chains and rebranded them as Pilots.
