Should not on the A/B Side. Definitely does on Class C Side. THATS where the difference in a class A/B and A CLASS C linear differ........ A Class A/B linear will usually have 2 2290 pills pushing 8 2879 pills. A class c is a like a straight 4/6 or 8 pill. It the pills are being driven watt wise by the radio your using.

If I remember right, you got a control on the front panel that says dial-a-watt which it is on the input of the amp, to allow the adjustment of higher power.

bored silly and wolverine11 Thank this.

Don't know about CB, but in ham radio, class A/B would be preferred for AM and class C for SSB, but for really high quality AM, you should be modulating the final, not just driving an amp with a low power driver.

Well I'm just getting ideas for the right/correct radio deadkey wise and power wise meaning total watts the radio will do for running that linear on A/B. Like I say I'm not planning on using the Class C on that linear.. I'm running a 400 watt radio on my dash now.
