They've had so many issues in the gorge this winter.

That's interesting. I know they get a bit of icing down there by the river but eh... It's Cabbage that's going to matter when things get really bad.

$400 ticket if you don't have chains or the required number.

Between the Cabbage and Arlington, there's plenty of places to "park and wait", but there is NOWHERE to park between I-5 and the Gorge area. The TA and Loves will be completely overflowing, and there is NO OTHER OPTION after those. Not sure where all the others who don't want to chain will park. Plus, the gorge will often get a freezing rain/drizzle, but Cabbage and eastward will mostly get snow.

There going to have an issue with many trying the north shore road (WA 14) and that's going to create major problems

Right I totally overlooked the Washington workaround.

Wouldnt it be amazing if everyone, say 10,000 trucks went across the river and rolled past Oregon's enforcement points?

From what I understand, using WA 14 during a period when trucks are prohibited on I 84, is not allowed.

When I rolled through the Gorge the other day, there were electronic signs prohibiting trucks over 10K on WA-14.

I’ve never seen such signage but no doubt they will have to create some or place cops to stop them or turn them around. It’s one thing to run that way in a 13-6 truck during the summer when truck traffic is light but quite another if it had 10x the normal traffic both directions on dicey roads.
