    Long story short
A mistake was made inside the truck stop and my card activated under another pump. The driver at that pump started pumping diesel and got 70 gallons worth before they shut it off.

Is it possible to get reimbursed

Why didn’t you get 70 gallons on his? And it would have been a wash...

You might, but don't hold your breath. What I suggest is letting the company know so these 70 gallons don't count against your truck. Some carriers do estimate milages based on fuel purchases. Beware though, 70 gallons is close to $300+ worth of company resources lost.

Who made the mistake? You? If the truckstop made the mistake they need to make it right.

Sounds like the OP made the same mistake I made many years ago. I told the fuel clerk I was on a pump but did not give the proper pump number. In my case, there was nobody at the pump that was authorized and the mistake was fixed quickly. I learned to be very careful about pump numbers after that day.

Funny enough, I stopped for fuel today and got out and went up to the pump to swipe my card, but it was already saying "begin fueling."

Turned out it was the truck next to me. The counter girl had turned on the wrong pump.

I had that happen about a month ago. Split second of temptation, but then reality set in and I had them reset the pump to my card

Yup same here. First thought was hey, a broken machine, pump before it fixes itself. Second thought was wait, there's probably a fellow human not far off who is wondering why his pump ain't working.
