So as the title goes, what banners are y’all using for radar equipped trucks. The Mack I use for the California gig has all the safety gizmos and it doesn’t like it when I block them with a typical banner. Ie check light on the dash.

I have a similar issue. Akron scale on I-76 tried to pull my permit for cutting a hole in the banner saying it was unreadable. I wound up just doing a flip down aluminum sign mounted below the radar.
The sign is attached to a piece of 3x3 aluminum angle bolted to the bottom edge of my bumper.
It does get a bit banged up but at $130 a piece I just replace it when it starts looking too bad.
TripleSix, cke, motocross25 and 8 others Thank this. -
That’s a thought although this Mack has a curved bumper kinda like your Western Star.
I got like 41 inches before the curve gets ugly. I don’t think these guys will go for a bar sticking out to trip people. -

Yea its tough with the tapered/curved bumpers. What about wrapping the bumper directly like @Rontonio did?

I order the vinyl pre-done reflective and then painted the grills for the penetrations the appropriate color ((actually my super talented steerman did it)
the vinyl as as like $200 or so and the company did the application for about the same
I have been running Ohio for the last couple months and no one has said boocke, Feedman, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 6 others Thank this. -
Man! I like that but I made the mistake of reading California rules. I know. Why? No one cares. But like cover up your beacons when not in use. Not supposed to run a sign without a load. I honestly don’t know how often this will even happen with this gig. But that is sweet!

Just do up a cover - that is what we did - turned the banner around so no words would show and then Bungee
doing up a cover in black material would be a snap -
I get it, if it was my stuff I would do just that or maybe a little more glamorous. This is a high end company and I even heard the words that they want to look professional when moving on the public highways when that happens. I wonder if we took a hinged metal sign and bent or cut in three places to make it work with the curvature of the bumper without tripping all the ground personnel. It would probably be me but shhh…Yes there would be now three pieces to fold up when not in use but it could work.
Hahaha….let me tell you about the transfer pump to refuel the trailer from the truck. Nah…one project at time.
