Hi,
Today i received a $10,000 ticket because i made a wrong turn on a 6 tons restricted street. It’s really messing up my life right now. Police officer said if i plead guilty it’ll just be $5,000.
Should i hire a traffic lawyer and plead not guilty? I am an essential truck driver, 3 years of experience with a clean record until today.
Overweight ticket! Restricted street.

2 questions...1 was there a sign where you entered that road ?
2 how far down that road were you when he stopped you ?slow.rider, NavigatorWife and Rojazmorillo Thank this. -

A good lawyer will find a way to get out of it. Get one who specializes in traffic violations predominantly and does not do divorces and custody cases 90% of the time. Admitting guilt is for suckers.americantrucker89, NWAF, bzinger and 5 others Thank this. -

Hate to say it mate but you done ####ed up. Your not going to get out of this cheaply or easily. Even with a lawyer the best your going to get is a reduction in price and even that is iffy depending on how far up that 6 ton road you were. And a lawyer is expensive too. Best of luck mate.
NavigatorWife, Mototom, Rojazmorillo and 2 others Thank this. -
Plead guilty and set up a payment plan. The court will take a dollar month. You’ll be paying the rest of your life, but at least it’s only a dollar a month.

Me personally, I would plead guilty and pay the fine.slow.rider, TheLoadOut, NavigatorWife and 1 other person Thank this. -
The citation states "W Pine St measuring 97 feet east of Hollinger St". Google street view shows a weight limit sign, with a second, supplemental sign below it reading "1000 ft ahead". This image is the only available of this location on street view, from November '12. If that "1000 ft ahead" sign is still there, you may be able to squirm out of it IF the location the officer put on the citation -- "97 feet east of Hollinger St" -- falls WITHIN that 1000 foot limit on the sign. That added "1000 ft ahead" provision is probably to allow trucks to go to and from the post office just west of there.
