I'm contemplating buying a truck and getting a driver.
I already have a regular 8-5 job and my buddy will be working my truck for a fee.
Wanted to see if anyone in here has done this and what are the challenges besides the usual (finding driver, type of truck, etc.)
I do not have CDL myself. Working on that currently.

Buying a truck and putting a driver in it-sound like the easiest thing to do, but it's actually not, it's one of the worst financial decisions you can do, unless you are in this business 100%, know what you are doing and already have successful business experience
Nothereoften Thanks this. -
I see no problem with this. You should have a million dollars in the bank in five years. That is if you started with two million.

Buying trucks and putting drivers in them is easy! You should make LOTS of money real quick!
Especially if you lease on and get hooked up with the right Landstar Agent! I heard those guys make like 300k NET a year per truck!
I wish I had only discovered how easy it was to do it, I would of done it a long time ago!CorsairFanboy, Crude Truckin', Bakerman and 1 other person Thank this. -

To be blunt it's a good way to lose money and screw up a friendship.
