Flatbedder is absolutely right on about the SMS #'s. This co's #'s are primarily in the 90% And higher range.

I never said that the companies will not be accountable, but once upon a time the companies were the only once accountable.

Well that's the way you phrased it. You made it sound like drivers were the ones basically causing the problems. Yes there are bad drivers just like there are bad companies.

Yes that is true, and guess what, It's from good drivers like the one that started this topic. Just look how many of them have log violations , speeding tickets, etc. Our safety dept. can not ride in the trucks with them to make sure they do their work properly. Sadly they are so many drivers out there who think that their only job and responsibility is to drive and make money without even considering how many ppl are they putting at risk when they speed or don't rest enough. Owner operator who don't want to spend any money on their rigs to ensure they are safe and running correctly. As far it comes to the number of trucks if you look at the bottom of the page it says that the company info has not been updated.
The only reason ppl like the person who started this post are unhappy with us is because we enforce rules and suspend drivers for violations. No matter how hard we try they are still those bad apples out there who don't care about the laws, and that is the reason that I am glad that Dot finally understood that the drivers need to assume responsibilities as well as the companies because no company can afford to have some one from the safety dept. riding in the trucks at all times to ensure that the operations are run smooth and correctly.

What is your understanding of a bad company?
Because mine is a company that does not have enough work and does not pay the drivers in time or at all. That leaves the drivers hanging when they have a problem and does not maintain their own trucks. Check the D&B reports we don't bounce checks...ever. Check BBB no complains...,
We have 24/7 dispatch and safety, we pay every week and we return escrow 45 days after the drivers leave the company. Our trucks go in to service every month and we try to make sure that the Owner Operators maintain their trucks as well ( which is close to impossible, because we can not make them spend money if they don't want to- so the best we can do is suspend them for bad equipment , but that is only when we find out.) We have mostly brand new trucks and 2007 Volvos which have been well maintained.
One of the reasons I said that this person needs to put some prove where his mouth is because we have never bounced a check.., if we did I would know who he is! And what is worse, I don't have one driver who quit or was suspended or is no longer with us for the past 7 months, which gives me the idea that this person might of been a driver for an Owner Operator and have some beef with him, where I can't really do anything because his pay check will have nothing to do with my company since the owner operator will be the one that pays him and the one responsible for the equipment or any other problems they may have in between each other. Our job is only to dispatch this truck, to make sure his paperwork is in order, to collect his logs , to pay the owner OP the 90% of the freight (as noted in our lease agreement) etc.
Every time an Owner Operator hires a driver for his truck we make sure that there is a signed agreement in between them, where both parties understand that we are not the employer of the driver and that his pay checks will be coming straight from the owner of the truck.

Well we run all 48th states and Canada and also local in IL. We have dry and refrigerated freight and we also do hook and drop. We have single drivers and teams as well.
You are right we don't have a web site, to be honest with you I never found the need of one. Our owner OP's and drivers mostly run on open dispatch and there is some steady freight as well. And as I said earlier our information on the safe stat has not been updated and that is why it is showing 54 units.

I see the problem in the very early words of the OP:

    Elk Grove Village

One of those Chicago-area based half-assed companies.
