Nope...no need, but I will expand on my previous post.

Seems every company from the Chicagoland area has the most aggressive drivers on the road and/or what apprear to be the trashiest units. Perhaps your outfit is different, I don't know.

But I DO know that when a rig from that area is in my immediate vicinity, I take extra caution because the driver either doesn't speak English, is on the #### phone and is too busy to use turn signals, or has a truck that looks like parts are going to be flying off in my direction any second. He will generally be tailgating consistently and changing lanes to make 100 feet of progress several times. Generalities? Sure enough, and no different than the smack doled out to JB, Swift, SNI, and all the rest. But over the years I've done enough driving (professionally and personally as I had family living in the area for a time) to shape my feelings.

It's an opinion. Perhaps you and your company can change my outlook.

    My .02 cents:

I have found ANY trucking company from Elk Grove Villiage, Il is not excatly a safety oriented company. Seems very few if any speak passable english, love to run people off the road and wreck trucks.

Is your company like this? Your safe stat shows me that the driver is telling the truth.

Yes, the driver hasn't shown proof, but neither have you. Put your money where your mouth is. I am just an intrested observer.

Everything you said is mostly true..., but those are not the companies truck it's the owner operators. If you read my previous posts I explained that there is no way we can force an owner operator to spend money on their beet up trucks and that is why I am happy that DOT tightened the rules and now they share the responsibilities with us. I also want to mention that it doesn't really matter where is the company located because drivers and owner operators come from every where. For instance most of my OP are from OH. We as a company can control only so much and we are always happy to speak with concerned citizens when they call us with complains in regards reckless driving from one of our units. We take serious measures and even suspend or fire drivers on occasions. What I am trying to say is that you can't judge a book by it's cover since things are not always black and white. As of for those none English speaking drivers, it has always been a mastery for me how do they get cdl's or even dl's for that matter. You should be blaming the states that allow them on the roads and trust me that is not always IL since i've seen them from almost every state.

I can not prove anything since the person who started this topic is hiding behind his nick name and hasn't respond to any of the posts.
It seams to me, that I am repeating my self...., Since you are so fluent in to the safe stats and understand them so well , take a better look in to them, what exactly out of those is a company violation? Maybe I should have my safety ride in the trucks so they will fill up their logs? Or maybe he should be there to jump on the break every time they speed..., or better yet maybe I should hold the checks for the owner operators and fix their trucks with them and have them go home empty handed?!?
As I said before, a company can do only so much. Most of it is left to the drivers. What ppl do on the road is not something we can control and it's usually something we find out after the fact. My prove that we do our job right is that our safety audit is satisfactory regardless of those 90 and up DOT results and that we have been in business for a long time. The turn over for drivers and OP's is at a large number because violating state and company laws has resulted in termination of their contracts with us. This is the reason why there are unhappy drivers with us out there. And as I said before in regards the bounced check that this person is claiming to have you can always check D&B or BBB and see that there is no such thing or complains, we pay every one on time.

I honestly don't think that this is the place to advertise. But I will tell you:
The max we pay for experienced drivers for now is 0.46 on singles and 0.26 on teams. We run all 48th states and Canada on an open dispatch.
All of our Owner Operators make 90% of the gross and of course they get to choose which loads they want to take. The pay of each load is negotiated between the broker and the owner by our dispatch and the load is done only when both parties are in agreement.
There is a $1200 escrow for either a driver or an OP which is returned 45 days after resigning / leaving the company.
There is a $655 monthly cargo insurance for Owner Operators for each unit.
There is a $155 monthly charge for Accidental Occupational insurance for each driver/owner operator unless they can show prove that they have their own.
We require a minimum of 3y experience , a clean MVR and no complains from the previous employer.
Those are the basics, I hope I answered your question.

Fair enough. I appreciate the response. And you're certainly correct...there is only so much a company (the entity itself) can do about negligent O/Os. But things can be done, and I hope you will continue to do them. Good luck to you!

Well they may be owner ops but as long as they are running under your dot authority you are held responsible. If they don't want to maintain their equipment to dot specs then terminate their lease because ultmately under csa you will get points also.
