True that but easier said than done! Transportation companies also have to comply with State and federal employment laws, as well as HR policies. I can't terminate on the first violation unless it is something major. Most laws are made to protect the employees O/O = statutory employee which means that we have to follow certain steps, it is not as easy as you think if we want to be in comliance.

 

It says that you have 30y experience as a driver, that should put you at a mature enough age to know that a book should not be judged by it's cover.
I should also let you know that most of my problematic drivers are not Europeans. Sad to say bit they are Americans, Kenyans, Somalians, Nigerian. Europeans do not hold a candle to the Mexican as well. So leave the New Europe..World and what ever out of this.
There are bad sheep in every heard, but some how i didn't see many European companies listed under this topic, this should tell you something.
Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that they are none, bad Europeans..., but we can not blame it all on them!

 

I really hope you don't think I made any accusations. I was pointing out to the OP how any company that did as she stated would be up the smelly creek with no paddle.

You were also called down with your truck claim and your Safe Stat score so my advice is to stop trying to put spin on the thread as now that you got spanked with accurate information what ever you or anyone else from behind a desk in there says we won't believe it.

That's life and many of the members in TTR have more experience than your 10 year old company.

Sorry but we know BS and spin when we see it and believe it or not truckers aren't as dumb as many think we are! Especially when it comes to digging up information from reliable information sites in the Wild World of Weird!

Besides I have seen the deleting of fuel stops and dropping of loads and heard first hand the "buy 70 more hours" from an owner and dispatcher and I know it still goes on and will until that on board crapola comes into full effect and I'll even laugh when companies get busted for running a hack on their system to be able to work the computer to get what they want! "Getting over" on the DOT has been going on for many years even when they were known as the ICC and it won't stop any time soon until they make the fines so hard that it'll be worth it to stay legal!

But I still can't wait to hear of the silly stuff happening!

Anyway we do love reading the things that some companies will write in defense of their name! Some we know are true, some we have to pick our feet off the floor as it can get deep and that is from both sides of the argument! Driver of the truck and driver of the desk.

BUT! Be advised that I made no accusations but wrote factual information as to why some of what had been said could come back and bite someone as what was written in the OPs post!

As to the bounced checks...OP if you have a copy of it post it as to back up what you said!
This is why I advise everyone to COPY COPY COPY!
Especially any bounced check! But if the company is a BFI or POS at least having the routing numbers in case of a civil suit and you have to get the court to garnish an account!

Drivers aren't covered under the fair labor practices and O/O's are subcontractors, they can be terminated without cause.
Generally imo co's with high CSA or Safer scores are at least condoning what the drivers/O/O's are doing. You either are incredibly stupid to let this happen or you don't care.

 

Unfortunately, that is where you are wrong! Contractors and subcontractors fall in to the statutory employee statue. When one company is the primary source of income for a driver/ subcontractor or contractor the laws apply no matter of the field of business the company is in.

 

There is no need for defense in this situation,
The person that started this post has the full right to be unhappy with us, what I don't understand is why isn't he listing the real reason. I know for a fact we did not bounced a check ( even with out the COPY, COPY COPY ) he/she can get a copy from his/hers bank, I don't see him responding to any of the posts so I guess he is not interested in showing me some prove so that I can fix the problem. It's easy to hide behind a nick name and accuse ppl / employers of things they haven't done. It's sad when ppl stand this low. It's even sadder when a person will try to ruin some once reputation driven by his own greed or stupidity.

 

Maybe he didn't cash it at his own bank? Who knows but still with companies these days it is best to copy any piece of paper that crosses your fingers. Been there done that!
Give the OP a few more days to make an appearance. Not all drivers have broadband or a laptop. There are still a few that just insist on paying stupid prices for WIFI at their favorite truck stop.

But don't worry as another driver from PTH might show up and add to the thread as TTR is becoming more known in the trucking world. Inquiring minds are learning how to Google a name and guess what shows up when they do?

What they were hoping might not show up!
