Has anyone explored the potential for two people to start with one truck and split expenses and driving time ? Pros cons etc ?

Seems to me, if you have a truck running all the time and two people looking after the company, and NET maybe 80k isnt that a worthwhile venture ? Seems like OO sole proprietorship are never home ( biggest own side to OTR owners?

I always found it much easier to make a living for myself, than for two families.
Not sure what or where your 8-,000 figure come from or means, but there is no need for an oo to have to work every day or even every month to make a living.

How much experience do you have? Have you ever teamed before?

No "Team" meaning driving with another person all day, no thanks.

Interest is in the finance and physically driving with a partner in the sense one week on one week off, or every two

I am learning all I can about owner operator, guy I know that does it burnt out becasue he was on the road too much to make 60k++

Why not split the truck make less, drive less, find some local job part time on the down time. The idea is to add trucks later, IF you can build the capital.

Why not just buy the truck and hire a part time driver. Partner-ships don’t float

$40K net for each driver? Forget buying a truck. That's the low end of company driver pay. Better off to work for someone else for those wages.

Boy,I wish everyone could see this................

If Your going to own a truck,Drive that truck, and take on the huge responsibility of being an interstate carrier..

You Better NET 100k or more per year- Yes,That means 100k in earnings after every expense.

Nobody EVER wants to address this- You are responsible for the general publics safety-You are responsible for keeping your equipment DOT compliant- You are Responsible for providing customer service without fail- You are responsible for paperwork,so on and so on.

Makes me Sick when I see these owner-ops looking like Slobs,Eating Braunschwiger sandwiches,Living in Filthy homes, making 30k after all operating expenses-
Makes the Industrey as a Whole able to get away with Poor rates and wages.
