Passed my written and need advice

    I passed my written test now I have my learners permit. I start school at the local communtiy college in about 30 days. My question is should I go ahead and do my hazmat written and get a tanker endorsement before I go. I really don't want to do doubles or triples.I talked to my instructor and he said to wait until I start class to gey my hazmat and tanker endorsement. Thanks for your in put. petesout

    If you got a month, I'd get all the Hazmat stuff and all the endorsements out of the way. The doubles and triples is no sweat and once you've got it, you've got it.

    I say you should get them, the more qualifications you have may make you more valuble (better pay) to whatever company that hires you.

    Better check into the Hazmat endorsement of a learners. Im not sure about Iowa, but in GA, Hazmat is NOT allowed on learners thanks to the 9/11 happenings.
    Im going tomarrow to get my learners. Im going to go ahead and get Doubles/Triples, and Tanker since the info is fresh in my head.

    The way I understand it is in Iowa you can take the test and when you pass it you have to get a background check and get finger printed. Then when you get your practical test done after school it will be added to your cdl. I do plan on getting that done and getting a tanker endorsement. I'm stiil on the fence about doubles and triples. Thanks for the replies. petesout
