Pay attention to what your signing when taking a CDL course.

If your getting ready to sign on to a carrier that will provide you CDL training. Find out what the fine print reads. Most carriers require you to stay on with them a certain amount of time before you can leave. Terminating your agreement early could lead to steep fines and repayment for the CDL training. And yes they are already well versed on getting their money through garnishments through the court.

 

Your right. Over the years i had to 2 drivers sign on with me and their garnishment followed. Unfortunately not everyone sees past the free offers and bright lights when breaking into trucking. There still are companies that will bury deep into a contract

It's also not revolutionary to read a entire contract. Most have not read past page #5. I have proven that by having page #5 of my contract state that on Fridays all drivers must comply and wear a pink floral shirt. Although I did replace that page with the actual page 5 of the contract. It goes to show these contracts are not taken seriously.

That's my experience. I can only share that and hope no one ever has to find out the hard way
