PepsiCo is now delivering Doritos and soft drinks to stores using driverless trucks

I knew it. Now they’re saying due to recent federal rules enforcing English speaking drivers they can’t get any help so they have to go to autonomous trucks. Now suddenly people’s jobs aren’t important anymore. It’s become a justifiable fight against the federal government so they’ll flip flop over to that side even at the expense of family’s occupations they used to at least claim they cared about.

 

Been saying it all along, it’s going to happen sooner rather than later.

So does the lumper ride in the back?? Unless they are giving the stores a discount most won’t unload the truck when they are used to driver doing it right now …

 

I’d like to see a Driverless truck handle a blown steer and get it on the shoulder safely. I don’t think driverless trucks is a good idea at all. How many times has electronics failed? My tablet fails many times a day. That’s why I trust my RM atlas for truckers.

 

According to reports by the Wall Street Journal, these autonomous operations perform best on short-haul, highly repeatable routes, such as a 14-mile trip between a Gatorade bottling plant and a storage facility. These consistent runs feature fewer variables than traditional delivery routes, allowing the onboard technology to master the paths over time.

“Many of our routes that we’re operating are very repeatable and so, as the truck gets more history going through, it can become more sophisticated and it learns as it goes,” Jim Farrell, senior vice president of supply chain at PepsiCo’s North American beverages division, told the publication.

It would be nightmare if they sent these to actual grocery stores Why it’s only doing shuttle runs. I can almost bet it’s at night also no traffic. I love how news try’s to hype this up like it’s taking over right now.

 

Simply boycott any company putting profits over people. So the left over money from not paying a driver/human will go to the CEO and his yearly bonus. Will your life suffer if you never had another Pepsico product ingested into your body? They make worthless products.
