I’m curious as to at what speed the car hauler was going prior to impact. Usually interstate highways have a minimum speed of 45 to 55 mph. At the same time I wonder how fast the Perdue truck was running.

    Woodys and Lepton1 Thank this.

Gliders are trucks that are rebuilt to some degree. A owner can purchase a older truck that is the body, engine, wiring harness, air lines and usually front axle from the company. Of which you install your drives. It is almost a new truck. Fitzgerald will build a new truck using a older vin selling you new that is pre-DEF.

As to the crash, it seems odd that if the car hauler couldnt make highway speeds. Why didnt they have their flashers on? Yet if the Coronado plowed in, says to me the driver wasnt paying attention or asleep at the wheel.

Gliders were popular in the 80s and 90s. You could buy a brand new Pete Glider for around 40,000 then put your own engine, transmission and rears in it. That was a lot better than paying 100,000 plus for a new pete.
