Whether you live in Utah, pass through Utah, or are just plain tired of rising taxes, please help and sign & share the petition on change.org to reduce the diesel fuel tax rate in Utah. Maybe you can start one in your state as well. Enough is enough.

If you want to call -0.006 "down" yeah I guess, but if you look at the jump it made in 2023 I just don't trust it. Plus I am tired of it all and just trying to start a change. Tax tax tax, enough already.

Do away with all fuel tax. Instead, set up a data base where your mileage on ALL vehicles are reported daily and you receive a statement monthly from the US, your state and your local government. If you travel across state lines, your mileage is automatically reported to the other states and you receive a monthly statement for miles traveled in those states. If payment is not received in 90 days. the offending vehicle is seized and sold for delinquent amounts.

    There would be a revolution.
Americans pay taxes only because they are confiscated at the point of sale. Yes, this includes income taxes.
Can you imagine the chaos if everyone had to stroke a check for 30% of their earnings on April 15th in a lump sum? Or even worse, right around Halloween before the election cycle?
The people who pay property tax in a lump sum, are an extreme minority.
I agree with you. There should be a weight/distance model for funding highways.

    TheLoadOut and Oxbow Thank this.

There needs to be one as taxation is theft.
