The radio had it at 75 before the 34 screwup got implemented. So that would put it at 80 years now.

I don't know why it got implemented at that time frame. I can't imagine there was much to drive to in the early days. Roads probably really didn't exist. Truck stops probably didn't exist. Gas stations were probably few and far between. Was there even a payphone to even keep in touch with the office? Or even a scale house. I don't even think the loads weighed that much. Did sleeper trucks even exist?

I can't imagine trucking being anything near that it is today.

12 on duty, 12 off duty and a 36 hour restart....72 hr cycle....sleeper birth 4-4.......and when Off duty driving no HOS restrictions, vehicle MUST be unladen, NOT under dispatch.and can only go on duty AFTER a 12hr break...

Be careful, lest you stir the pot and they pass legislation to make things worse on us. Not sure how exactly. Makes me wonder how much more bs they'll come up with before the piecework pay goes out the window. I dont really have to imagine driving all over gods creation for $8.00 an hour because thats a lot of local jobs back home. But imagine that rate of pay for OTR. Seen an ad on craigslist once... 5 years Heavy haul, lowboy and dumptruck experience, must be single, no kids and have a very flexible schedule. $12.00 an hour. I called them just to ask them who the hell they think they are. I dont see the 11/14 or 70/8 going away. But I do see more weird rules like the mandatory 30 minute break on their way. Or worse, possibly a 8/14 rule with an 11 hour safegaurd loophole. Lets not give em any ideas tho, right?
