took a long time to decide on spending all that to get one, just wanted to let people know i love it, wow, i would be so irritated all the time with it cutting out so much, i bought the booster at a pilot and so far its full signal all the way through illinois.

ill have to look for a name in the morning, gonna try and get some sleep, looking around i dont see anything on pilots site, looking on amazon i found one that looks like it, but again, ill check the brand tomorrow, but so far not one drop out since i mounted it on the top bar of the mirror. other than having to change the station to an empty fm spot,
here is the amazon one, 30 bucks, pilot sells it for 70 so im going to delude myself that the 30 dollar one doesnt work :)

actually that looks a little different, the cord looks thinner, i think the one on mine is a full thickness coaxial cable, maybe thats why its more, i dont know, i know it works and im loving it not cutting out, ill be in the pa mountains on 80 tomorrow, always have issues there, ill see how it goes

Or you can come back to earth & realize that the major trucks stops mark everything up 2 times more then what it's worth....

It was probably where you had you antenna placed. I have that little turtle looking antenna & don't lose signal at all.

where did you put it? i tried up in the middle of the top of my windshield, thinking higher was better, maybe i should have just laid it on the dash or something, i tried a bunch of places that first day, i had terrible issues, well either way im good now, cut out twice today in pennsylvania, one in the tunnel so of course, once in a section that the rock was cut out for the road, so right up next to the rock wall, very happy even though i overpaid,

I got a 20 something dollar unit that looks just like the picture from Amazon. It works great, better than great.

The antenna's are designed to be outside of the truck. If you were using it inside the truck.... Then no wonder.

I made a bracket to hold the antenna that came with my XM. It places the antenna about a foot above the cab and I have not a problem with reception. If you have low on the cab, parts of the cab will block the signal if you are heading north.
