Am I the only one? I never see anyone else do it but it drives me nuts to see gravel chunks wedged in my tread. Sometimes I even get out a flathead screwdriver if they won't come out. New drive tires are way worse than my last truck.
Is there any reason I should or should not indulge in my little OCD habit?

Doesn't hurt. If you run offroad alot you will find it is not worth the time.

I do it too. Not "full-on" ocd about it, but I'll yank 'em if I see 'em, especially the grey ones that are "probably a stone, but MIGHT be a nail".

I'm actually off road maybe 2-3x a month. These are mostly from the end of the paved areas at loading/unloading I think. Those gravel chunks are more sticky than the dirt road stuff lol

I seldom remove them, while my mentor was hot on the topic.
But in 11 years out here I have not had a tire fail because of a pebble in the tread.

I once did find a half of a bolt seal wedged into the tread that I was more worried about.
    That one got removed.

Tires will never fail from it. They can get "rock drilling" it's just another reason for the tire to get turned down for a casing credit. I've seen them go down till the cords were exposed from rock drilling. Never seen one fail from it though.
