I'm from this area and motorcycles and rallies are both popular and numerous this time of year. Because everyone rides so much they are typically very experienced, and familiar with, the small/rural two lane roads here. Most have a very healthy respect for the terrain and type of motorcycle they are riding. It would be highly unusual for a group like this be be responsible for their own accident. So many families, friends and lives are devastated today. It's hard to comprehend the sadness involved here.

Perhaps it wasn't an accident at all.

 

I never understood why most bikers ride two by two and stacked behind each other for this reason. If the lead dude gets wiped out, down go the rest like dominoes. Surprised this doesnt happen more. Sad
