Yeah, I've been watching this all day. Never seen a weather pattern form such a distinct tight coil like that over dry land. It looks like a hurricane forming.

I ran into the back wall of it on I-70 in Missouri and didn't like the looks of what was forming in Arkansas. So I shut down just before Columbia MS. I'm gonna wait it out then run in the dark.

I’m running on 80 westbound through Iowa right now about an hour and a half away from Des Moines. I have to cut down to I 35 south since I’m heading down to Edwardsville, Kansas. Right now It’s partly cloudy but coming out of Illinois there were periods of rain showers. It’s gonna be interesting to see what the weather’s gonna be like when I cut down into Missouri along 35.

Nebraska 80 was shut down behind me. Snow in the panhandle. I drove until I couldn't see straight anymore last night (the pea soup fog at Grand Isle made that decision a lot easier.)
Never been to Bossleman's 80 before but it saved my bacon because I needed to get off the road NOW last night.

Lost track of time (time zones and running two clocks!) and left later than I'd have liked, but they were starting to issue flood warnings behind me.

Don't think 80 is gonna be passable for the next 48 hours.

They shut down the entire PANHANDLE. All the roads in Western Nebraska are closed until further notice

Blizzard warning from Colorado up into South Dakota and through eastern Wyoming and western Nebraska.

Supposed to get 60 mph winds tomorrow hereabouts.

Some rivers are up and dirty, the outlook is for flooding the minor drainages fairly fast and then easing back quickly as high temps drop and precipitation ends over the late week into the middle of next week or later.

I-80 westbound mile marker 188, about 60 miles east of Des Moines,IA. The sun decided to hide behind some clouds, again. Wind is blowing out the southwest currently.

It's a good thing your co-driver has long arms. He took a pretty good pic from the passenger seat.;)
