Delivering to the Costco in Sumner WA early on Wednesday morning and my 70 will be completely shot. I've been to the eastern part of the state a lot but this is the first time I'll be going over the pass on 90.

Any suggestions for a place in the area to do a 34 afterwards?

    Appreciate the help!

If ya got time to get back ovee the pass, hang out at Cle Elum. You can park by the tracks. Easy to get around with a truck

You might try buying/begging a spot in the Freightliner dealership a few streets away from Costco in Sunmer. Also there is a Sumner Shell truckstop nearby that charges for parking & ruthlessly enforces it. There is a good/great pizza restaurant beside the truckstop. It is/was called Fat Zach's Pizza. I ate there every time I was in area. Do not try to park at the Sumner truckstop without paying. Sometimes by the time you park, go inside & pay, an employee will be at your truck getting ready to call a tow truck or boot your truck until you show your receipt.

The truck stop freaks out if you park at a fuel pump. I would try the Freightliner dealership first. They have portajohns. You can bobtail to some restaurants. There are not many options other than the dingy, dirty TA on I-90 Exit 34 North Bend, WA. There is free & paid parking but it is 1970s, not in a good way.

If you go to the TA I would recommend that you reserve a spot for 2 days. It is usually very crowded at the best of times.

How much time will you have left or how far are you willing to PC? Realistically you’d have to get over the mountains to the east on 90 or down to the 72 or 57 on 5 to have a decent free place to park.

The Shell mentioned above isn’t terrible to pay to park since they’ve redone their lot. You could reserve a spot at the Flying J at Tumwater (the Pilot off the same exit is small and older) or you could reserve a spot at North Bend at the TA. If you’re reserving a spot at either I’d recommend doing it a day or two early.

Visit the Haggen market. It's an upscale market with a supreme sandwich deli. Don't miss out on the Chinese food.

But Six, Chinese food from grocery stores is always subpar.

    Wait a minute. I'm not Six. :biggrin_1square5:

Ahem. Excuse me. Haggen offers excellent Chinese food. Trust me.

Try Brank's bbq. Not too bad. But they close early. 1900.

@tscottme mentioned Fat Zach's pizza and that is a solid choice.

If all other parking options fail, you can probably part at this vacant toy manufacturing facility. Never seen anyone in there.

I hate when my hiding places get outed, hopefully it doesn’t get trashed

The cottage has truck parking along with breakfast, lunch/dinner and a bar, there’s also 2 hotels and a Mexican restaurant within walking distance as well as a post office if you need to send anything In

If you are heading south exit 57 on I-5…Gee Cee’s truck stop has a 24 hour burrito / sandwich bar. A legit old school restaurant, a smaller paved parking lot, but a huge gravel lot that isn’t that bad. They’ve also remodeled their showers (only $12, free with fuel) that are really nice. Laundry room is up stairs and last time I used it I could sit there in the TV room while the machines ran.

good spot to do a 34

Thanks so much, everyone. I might have just enough time left to get back across the pass, looks like about 90 miles to Cle Elum. If not I'm well versed in reserving TA parking because of late appointments in Jessup MD.

I don't yet know where I'll be picking up after the break...if I was a betting man I'd wager on produce to the east, but I've been wrong before.

    Thanks again!

The law of consequences says, when empty, if you go south, your next pickup will be north of your drop. If you go east over the pass, your next pickup will be West over by Bremerton.
