    Hey all,
I need advice on planning a trip from Washington DC to Hadley, PA to pickup a garbage dumpster for our church. I have a commercial truck (Ram 5500) with DOT number but I only travel within MD for my work. What do I need to know prior to making this 600 mile trip out of state into Pennsylvania? Thank you

    Ah ... interstate.

Are you doing this as a private person to help out the church or are you doing it as a commercial carrier and charging anything - I mean even a penny?

I do, I am concerned about IFTA and EDL apart from inspection on the truck

I am doing it to help the church even though they have offered to pay for fuel and time.

If you are not being paid for it just put "Not for hire" on both your doors and roll down the road.

Even though my truck has company markings, phone number, and DOT number on it? Could I just cover that with a magnet that says not for hire?

I would say so but can't say for sure. You could call the DOT for all the state's you are going through and they should be able to tell you.

You will get caught and end up with a fine.

I have a stupid question, why is a garbage dumpster in 317 miles away?

You guys run out of dumpsters in DC?
