If you are heavy, 81 to Syracuse then Tollway west would be more flatter near water than trying to head out dead south against the series of ridges.
Plattsburgh to Malone NY. Then Malone to Buffalo is a good way. I’ve done the Malone to Buffalo route. Us11-I81-I90
That’s the way I have always done it.
RT 11 can be interesting in the winter time but we are far enough toward spring that it shouldn’t be an issue.
I had time on my hands I went NY 3 NY 104 to Rochester if that’s an option for you
^^^^^ I used to load out of Plattsburgh quite a bit and that's the way I ran. US11 to I 81 to the thruway.
190 out of Plattsburgh to 11 to 81 to 90. Route 11 is fine, snow's gone...
us 11 to 81 to 90 is all flat don't remember any weight restrictions on any part of us 11
