Hi - Very long story, but my grandpa, who I never knew, disappeared almost 60 years ago. We have very little information to go on but the last job that we know he had back in the early 50's was hauling cars out of the old Studebaker plant in South Bend, IN. We have no idea for what company though. I'm hoping to find someone that might know what companies hauled cars for them or knows someone that actually did haul cars for them. His haul went from South Bend, IN to the Carolina's. We've tried other avenues of trying to find more information with no luck. This is the first time I've tried hitting the internet and asking ... Any help/information/suggestions that anyone can provide would be much appreciated!
Please help!!!

Welcome to the forum. I'm hoping that you can get some answers to your questions. I'm sure that its hard not having any closure on this. Good luck.

Dallas and Mavis Forwarding, Robert R Walker, were two companies that hauled new Studebakers.

Thanks Lonesome. That is definitely a help. I can't seem to find anything on Robert R Walker on the internet ... Do you know where they were based out of ?

You might check with Andy Beckman at the museum, or one of his staff. They might have info on Walker/Dallas & mavis
