I have an aluminum box on my trailer that has been exposed to drive tires road grime.
I am installing fenders to protect the box from that mess. Went to the Blue Beacon and they only got the heavy stuff off and it still needs some deep cleaning to look decent.
My trailer is in a storage yard without access to a water supply.
My question is what might be the best way to bring out a decent finish in the storage without power tools and water? Maybe a special cleaner with something abrasive?
Thanks!

Look on YouTube. Water is not needed.
DSK333 and Hegemeister Thank this. -
I hire a guy for my polishing needs. To do it right, you'll need a orbital sander and varying rouges. It's a very dirty and nasty job but the guys that do it well enjoy it and I'm grateful! They use no water to accomplish this.

It's better to sand it with 800 wet or dry sandpaper for the bad spots and gradually go to 1000 and finally 1500 to remove the scratches.
Then hit it with a orbital sander with the proper cutting and polishing bars.Last edited: Sep 27, 2018

What might this cost and how can I find a guy?

They're usually on the CB advertising. You could also try tossing out a line on the radio when you're near a truck wash facility. I see you're in PA. There's a couple of guys that do it in Breezewood.

If you have access to a small generator, some light sandpaper work followed by jewlers rougue and topped off with some mothers will bring it to the forefront. No water needed. If you use a rag under a orbital sander, it takes a lot of work out of it.
Hegemeister Thanks this.
