The new POE is coming along in Nipton, Ca. just outside of Primm, Nv. 4 inspection bays two scales and a decent size parking area. Whiskey Pete's and Gold Strike being the closest establishments to park if needed. This is the best pic I could get, anyone else have any ?

From what I've been reading, the ag inspection station in Yermo will be torn down and replaced by the Nipton station, tho I saw only 4 inspection bays or booth's rolling down the hill, the info says there's 6.. There isn't a projected/proposed opening date noted.. It looks close to completion, all vehicles must enter.

I was following an intermodal up the 5 a couple weeks ago before dawn. No lights on the trailer no brake lights nada. But he slid right thru at Castaic no problem. Inspection bays were open

Im wandering what there going to do about the tiny old scales in the cajon pass. South bound side is hardly ever open.

I've only seen the eastbound scale on 58 open once
it is dangerous on the curve downhill side
