Portable generators?

I used a Yamaha.... Had it where it would take somebody a very long time to steal if they tried... So ya.. they are used... I would not recommend the loud ones.. But the whisper are great... Just have to keep them from being stolen...

 

most cheap generators burn as much fuel as your trucks engine

 

I met a guy in Pheonix a few months ago...had one mounted on his deck plate.

The coolest thing, was his AC setup inside the truck. It was a 110 unit (where his jump seat used to be located), that was connected to a homemade attachment that vented out the righthand window.

It was strange looking...But I guess it worked.

That would hold true if you buy a cheap generator... Buy a Honda or Yamaha and they don't use much at all. Not to mention you can take it anywhere with you...

 

that's why I said "cheap generators" just t remind people to pay atention to the fuel usage. I say a guy with a cheap ol briggs n stratton motor bolted to some no name generator once and I watched him go through two fairly large tanks of gas in one night with it. He had a 110 roof heat/air unit in his sleeper like an RV has. that's a good setup but he really needed a better generator

 

The Honda EU2000 is a great generator. If you later need more juice, it can be hooked in series with another EU2000. If you buy an electric start generator, you can get a remote starter switch where you can start it without getting out of the cab. As good quiet generators go, the Honda has the best IMO.

I've got an electric start Kipor 3500 that I used with the camper till it broke a rod, now I can't find any replacement parts anywhere. Kipor's are quiet but they're made in China.
