So the driver just got started rolling. Wondering if a bum thought they had a good place to sleep for the night. Laid down under the truck. Yet why wasnt the person discovered during the pretrip. Presuming the driver actually did one

    78 years old.

his wife could have been in a nursing home, suffering from dementia, or Alzheimer's, or dying of covid, and either way, we are not allowed in the hospitals or nursing homes, due to this covid.

we just had a relative get admitted to the hospital, they told her husband to go home, he could not stay. he got a call 4 days later, come on in, she's dying..

we had to go to the wake/funeral this past saturday

maybe he too was very ill, and was only going to die anyways.

frankly though, even thought the trucker was not charged, still "why da hell did he NOT get out a do a quick walk around?"

how did he not see the pick up truck, which if a 4x4, is quite tall????

i always did, and i am sure 99.999% of everyone else here does as well.

Perhaps the driver completed his pretrip, then got back in the cab to ######## for a bit before he took off? I mean, we don't know how much or how little time the victim was standing there before getting the pancake treatment

April 13th an ambulance took my 94 yr old mom to ER. Her COPD had gotten much worse. She went to the hospital in an ambulance I followed in my car a few minutes later. I got to ER & asked to see my mom, they usually allow family members into ER this time they said no bc of this #### covid virus. I told them how sick she is they wouldn't let me in. Security escorted me to the door. I went for breakfast nearby thinking once they had her stabilized they would call me to come back. They did call but I couldnt get there in time, she died alone, something she was always scared of.
I feel bad for ppl with relatives in nursing homes that have to endure months of not being able to be close to their relatives. The Dr always say ppl recover better if they're at home. They always sent mom home asap, she was in &out of the hospital often. I'm grateful mom is at peace now all her health problems are no more.

Really sorry to hear that. It’s VERY difficult when a parent passes away. But when they die alone, you’re beside yourself with grief-that I know all to well.

Incidents like this have a lot of questions, and sometimes there’s no definitive answer.
Maybe the old guy found out he was dying(Alzheimer’s,MS,cancer, some other terminal illness) and didn’t want to go out in a slow painful death. Or like @buddyd157 said, maybe a loved one is facing the same scenario.
Hopefully the investigation will give us some more insight.
