Actually no. But that has to do with day trading laws, not fmcsa laws.
Basically stock trading isn't compensated work as per stock trading laws, so definition 9 doesn't apply.
There was a thread about this here awhile ago with all the specific laws mentioned....

Say you enjoy woodworking and make gambling tables, or even those wooden wells for the front yard. If you sell them then now you are being compensated for your work...Rookietorcher Thanks this. -
Basically it's talking about stuff like detention pay where one is paid just to be somewhere. -
Thanks for all the response. Yeah the vehicles I drive now aren’t actually commercial vehicles at work anymore. Just an f250. But I’m in a tight bind needed extra cash on the side. Trying to decide if I want to look at a different job than what I’m doing already. 25.50 an hour for hard labor. I need to make 1500 or more a week. Are there any trucking jobs that actually pay their drivers this and no run around or bs. Companies advertise 90-100k a year and I ask how they get that number and they barely pay 60k a year. Any advice?
Thanks for all the advice already provided. I want to be safe, but I also don’t want to lose my home -

IGNORE the Lease-Purchase ads which will advertise weekly revenue of 2-6K. If know how much the company driver ads lie, the lies in L-O ads will rattle your cage.
