    Got a new house to pay for Bob. Maybe I will slow back down when we sell the current house, although I kind of like my rhythm I have gotten in.

    Hey thanks for the advice, still learning, I had a load #1 turned around and a hauler told me it was better if I faced that way cause I have less weight on the 5th wheel since the motor is not directly over it.. I’m open to any worthy help thanks fellas... give me your feed back..

    I guess you would have to weigh your loads both ways and see if it puts too much on your 5th wheel. If you are paying the fuel bill you will want to know for sure. It would be a guess on my part. Very few stinger carhaulers drive a unit on #1, most owner ops don’t have a daycab like I do. Sleeper trucks you have to back anything but a sedan on #1 or you are too tall.

    Define "too tall" ??? ;);):rolleyes::eek:

    I actually almost always drive #1 on if it's a car. Moves a bit of weight forward making it easier to keep the drives and tandem under 34,000. Unless it's bigger cars where I needed that extra foot of overhang off the front and out of the way so #2 could come the foot forward for turn room. Which isn't ever an issue with the 80 footer. :D Plus the fuel benefit you mentioned.

    Brian I was laid off from UPS in 2003 and I took an OTR job briefly because I was bored sitting at home on unemployment. I was somewhere in Massachusetts on a marked truck route on a state Hwy. I was pulling a brand new air ride mty trailer and when I went under an overpass I see sparks flying. I wouldn’t want to haul any cars on that road if an mty van scrapes.
