    It's not that its longer. A step is either 48' or 53' like a flat. The difference in weight is in the neck of the step deck. More steel, more mass, more weight. The dance floor is no different in length or width unless you order differently.

    hopefully these pictures can display a clear comparison in the frame difference between a step deck and a flat bed to further demonstrate the weight disadvantage in the neck of a step deck.
