I've never heard of anyone applying a "shiney extended hood" surcharge to a freight bill

It's funny you would say that. I had one of the very first 379's with the new 70" sleeper in 1998. It had a table and benches just like my Swedish Meatball and a walk out side door on the passenger side like the old 63" bunks on the 359's. This was production unit #3 and all week long I would collect the little screws that found their way to the floor. When I'd get home I'd give the neighbor kid $10, a cup of screws and a screw-driver. He'd find a hole for every one of them. This went on for several months till they finally stopped falling out.

 

This is why I said Peterbuilt quit building trucks after the 359 LOL

We typically keep that to ourselves, if you had a "shiney extended hood" we would have let you join our organization and clued you in on it.

 

To be honest, I'd drive a Volvo with bright purple and polka dots paint job, with a Detroit motor, Peterbilt bumper and KW air cleaners if it never broke down. Sure, people would laugh, but I'd laugh on my way to the bank. A truck is just a piece of equipment, used to make a profit. As long as it is reliable an gets the job done, then I'm happy. It's good to take pride in what you drive, but its just a name. If u enjoy your job and what you drive, then 1/2 the battle is won

 

Finally loaded and ready to head to Antonov but as is usual there's a problem with internal paperwork and I can't leave the property. Oh well!
