Pre-Trip Practice and General Advice?

    Hello, everybody.

    I'm making a career change a little later in life. I'm 40-years-old, and it looks like fate has guided me in the same career direction as my departed dad. I'll be starting truck driving academy at the end of this month. I do not take this lightly at all, so I'm commencing studies already.

    With all that being said, what would be a good source for comprehensive pre-trip studies?

    And if anybody would be kind enough to give me some good, solid, general advice for somebody in my situation, I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Get a manual from the state you live in and study it well. There are numerous sites including this one that has practice tests and take them often. Develop a good sound pattern for doing your pre trip and do it that way every time. Also develop a good habit of hooking and dropping trailers and do not deviate from it . It is easy to develop bad habits in this industry but use good common sense and you will be okay.
