For anyone with ADHD but have good driving record and no accidents etc. how would trucking companies view people on prescription medicines for ADHD? From what I understand amphetamines were used by truck drivers and pilots back in the old days due to it making you alert. I would think it's a plus for drivers and the trucking companies but if they don't know what amphetamines are for, then what?

There are prescribed drugs that you are still not allowed to use while operating a commercial vehicle. I would suggest that you do a google search and see if your prescription is on the denied list.

There was a kid in my CDL class that tested positive for adderall , he was pulled out of the truck that very day but went home and grabbed his prescription and was allowed to continue.

If you take amphetamine and have a drug test you will fail.
As the regulations state you would need a written letter from your Doctor saying you are safe to drive.
BUT,the company may still not allow it.
