Hello everyone, im new to the forum, and would like to ask a couple of questions. I started with Prime back in December of 2010. I went through there student driver program and got my license. I got with a trainer which turned out to be a terrible trainer. I stayed out over a month before I got to come home. (which is where im at now) I didn't learn anything with this trainer. The first day I left with hm, he went to sleep in the back. I pretty much had to teach myself along the way, because whenever I asked him questions, or asked for help, he would get so mad and act like I was stupid. After about a week, I asked my Fleet Manager for a new trainer. He said that there wasn't any available at this time. Which I new was bull crap. He said I just needed to tough it out and work through it. So, I tried but it just didn't work. For the month I was with him, I only had 10,050 miles, ( both our miles combined.) At that rate, I wouldn't have got my own truck for another 5 months or so. I guess everything just ended up hittin me all at once, and I just wasn't happy, so I decided to quit. I love trucks, and driving them, but it just wasnt good for me at Prime. So, I called the "person" over recruiting and training, and asked if I could be partially released from my contract to get another job. I was/am still willing to pay them back for the training they gave me. He told me that Prime wanted their money paid in full by the end of the week, or he would turn it over to a collection agency. I asked him how I could repay them if I couldn't get another job. He then began to completely disrespect me and was extremely rude to me. Is there anything that I can do? Any advice? Any help guys/gals, would GREATLY be appreciated! Thanks you all so much in advance! -Justin R.

Another horrifying story, to my dismay. I'm sorry that you experienced that. I'm not really sure if there's anything you can do about your alleged debt to Prime. I don't know who you talked to who was so rude to you, but I'd find the next person above them. It really is disturbing to keep reading stories like this.

hurry up and get another job. then pay prime $1.00 a month, let them give it to a collection agency, as long as you are paying "something" they can't say too much....
then after a certain time, STOP paying back prime.....let them come after you......they will stop after a while...... -
if you dont care about your credit then let them send it to a collection agency who gives a crap. all they do is call you. eventually they'll stop doing that too i had it happen to me on quite a few bills. i eventually filed bankruptcy cuz i already have a house so i dont plan on needing credit for quite some time.
i think he's just trying to scare you though i really do not think they can hand over a debt in a week. they sell debts off to collection agencies at such a lesser price then what you owe its in their best interest to get the money from you. just BS him and tell him you're sending a check. -
I used to think like you guys at your age, I'm 38 and my credit is still hurting.
Yeah, each time they sell the debt, a new agency gets to report it... So that's another 7 years with a mark against your credit... It rolls over until you do something about it. -
God if these guys don't want to train then they need to quit training period.

10) i can't do anything else, because i tried every thing else, and i think i will like being a trucker.
what pray tell do we do then...?????
we have all said at one time or another, "STAY OUT" but do they listen....???
NOOooooooo........
then they come here and complain how terrible things are.
i think what we have is a generational thing where the "newbies and wannabe's" think things are going to be handed over to them with out ANY effort on thier part.
well......good luck....... let us know how Mc Burgerworld looks after this.... -
11 yrs with prime fyi. you need to get some balls....i mean really. if you want another trainer they will get you another trainer. BUT YOU NEED TO STAND UP AND BE STERN. as for owing prime. you only owe a prorated amount. not the whole thing.whoever is telling you that is lying. call thier bluff. ill bet you wont even see a thing from prime. my brother got into it and decided it wasnt for him after a month. they did nothing. you shouldnt leave after one month. but in all honesty you probably did the right thing cuz driving trucking isnt for quitters. we put up with alotta #### and keep coming back.

It's a shame a person can't ask someone for advice anymore. Yes I am a newbie. but from what Ive learned their is definitely a lot of arrogant truckers out there who forgets they started at some point. I'm not asking for anything to be handed over to me either.

The whole attitude of the posters so far is dude just needs to get a set, because he aint got the balls for the industry?? I kinda disagree with that theme. I had a couple of bad trainers. Sad thing is, I had it extremely easy compared to a lot of students. Chicks get raped by there male trainers, trainers getting extremely physically, verbally, mentally abusive to there students etsss. Lot of bad ##### happens to students in these mega carrier schools, and not much is ever done about it. There are quite a few trainers who have no business on this gods green earth training students and the company doesnt care, they just care about having forced team trucks, so they do nothing about these bad trainers. Try to get a different trainer, with prime. Really push the issue. I would be willing to bet if you push and bother them enough, you will be given another trainers truck to go on.
My first was a bossy little powertrippin noob, who I hated but was able to set him strait when it got to bad, my second was a harmless drunk. He drive all day, switch shifts, he go into the sleeper a couple hours later passed out till morning when I finish my shift. Harmless but useless.JimDriv3r, hculiver and lookingat18wheels Thank this.
