i have seen alot of prime t700's. not sure if ive seen the new 680's yet but those are supposed to be lean mean machines
-
Prime bought 50 T700's to lease. They are a problem when they (&petes) cant haul loads over 40k in the box. As a "truckload carrier" most of our contracts have loads up to 45k (cascadias canhandle most of these, petes &kws can't.)with lw trucks pulling 49k loads. No plan on T680s though I'd consider one with the PACCAR MX in it.

We picked up a few of them because of the tractor production crunch earlier this year. I'm not sure if you can still order one through leasing at this point, but you have to have completed one full three-year lease to get into that.

I was just curious about performance numbers. Sounds like they are heavy which to me translates to poorer mpg's?
-
No idea, although the 2010 engines are performing better than 2008 in that regard. Also, I've "heard" that the Paccar products are rather unreliable compared to our Freightliners.

i haul between 43k and 45 k every week in my t700
trans am kw must weigh less
bad information is commonplace in trucking
tell a lie to enough people it becomes the truth -
-
again i have no validaty driving a transam truck but it is a t700 with a paccar and an auto
i would assume a standard would get better mileage
new it was nothing special until after the overhead was done 6.3-6.8
last 100000 miles it never gets below 6.8 mpg anywhere any load
7.6 saint louis to Pa border on 70 less in Pa on way to philly 78000 gross 42.5 of meat
no engine issues a couple of recalls but what truck doesnt see them
i love my apu 3000 watt inverter frig with freezer yup a 700 pos geesh -
