That's because there isn't anything common about it anymore.

I was hauling a load of electrical wire to Bucknell University in PA. My GPS was pointing me down a road that George Washington must have built. I did not go there. I drove around the University looking for another way in. Never found it. Called dispatch. They had me call the customer. I did. He gave me the same directions my Judy Garmin did. No, not going to go there. Called dispatch back. They said to go the way the customer said to go. I said, sure thing boss, send that message over the Qualcomm. They did. I drove to the end of that lane and started the turn. I knew it wouldn't make it so I called dispatch back and had them send a wrecker. Wrecker got there and the tow driver said he could make that turn. I called dispatch and had them send a message over Qualcomm telling me to hand over the keys to the tow truck driver. He got the truck buried in mud. Took him 3 hours to get it out and then they poured liquid soap on the road to make it slick enough to pull the trailer around. Campus Police said just to call them the next time and they would be happy to lead me around the Campus.

All in all, not a bad day. Company didn't complain or anything. Funny it works out that way when the Dispatcher is the grandson of the owner.

Lol how many times I hear this! Go ahead and trust that trucker gps instead of doing your map work and you'll be one of the D.A.P.D.'s we hear about stuck under a bridge or busted crossing a low weight bridge. DO YOUR MAP WORK DRIVERS AND QUIT BEIN LAZY.

Probably would help if the trainers actually TRAINED, instead of going into it just for the money by making students team-drive.:biggrin_2559:

Psd students dont team and tnt students are paid $600/wk based on 5000mi and if you dont run 5000mi then that comes out of lease drivers pocket.
