    With 6 months jail time for that I'd have to assume the level of professionalism expected from drivers is much higher over there than it is here.

    That kind of fine & sentence is what its going to take to get some drivers to get smart & not do this sort of thing. You have got to make the punishment hard enough to decrease some of this non-sense. One of two things, they'll either drive smarter or get out of trucking.

    He's an absolute moron, and he shouldn't be driving a truck, but a 6-month jail sentence? Definitely yank his license, but jail time seems harsh.

    As a matter of fact, I would say pull his ability to hold a CDL for life, but no jail time.

    They don’t play around in the U.K. They use more traffic surveillance cameras than anywhere else on Earth!!! If they catch you chucking out a piss bottle,they’ll have it on camera and they will send someone to have a “heart to heart” chat with you-if they don’t crack your skull first! They don’t tolerate any kind of hooliganism on their highways(actually motorways is their term).;)
