Yes, it matters to me on a personal level, to some customers it matters to them. The past 4 weeks I've been playing OTR driver more than ever, averaging 3 nights per week in the truck, I never realized how quickly things started to smell until my boss commented a week back that my truck was getting ripe, and I shower every night on the road if possible.

CRE Drivers....couple years back, I pulled up to Wal-Mart Loveland, CRE female team ahead of me, as I approached the security building, they were spraying lysol, I asked why, they said she, pointing the CRE driver reeked of urine and BO. Checked in, head around to my dock, I pass CRE unhooking, noticed three cats lying on the dash, I was only 4 docks from them, as I was cranking my landing gear down, I was catching a whiff of something odd. They BT around and parked, I BT around and parked, noticed her heading in the building. I walked in about 2 minutes later, the hallway reeked, my god it was putrid, she smelled a combination of BO, cat urine, cat feces, and general slobbery, it was obvious she was unwashed, her hair looked it, her clothes looked it. I stood 15 ft away from her and I was still almost gagging. Two other drivers came in behind me, one started to ask why I was so far back, then gagged. When she left, the last thing the clerk at the counter said, there's a truckstop (Johnson's Corner) 5 miles down the road, you are welcome to visit there while we unload you. As I approached the window, they handed me a can Febreeze to spray the hallway with, the receiving manager actually called CRE and complained about how bad the driver smelled. I noticed 20 minutes later they had the drivers entrance door propped open.

It becomes a slippery slope. We teamed for 10 years, and when you live in the same space, you don’t realize when things get stinky unless you’re informed.

We showered twice in the 5 days, wet wipes in between, and fresh underwear daily. Company uniforms. Wipe down the truck weekly and fresh bedding weekly. It didn’t take a lot of effort, even running 6200 miles a week.

I wear clean jeans (not faded) and tee-shirt with long sleeves and a chest pocket with my logo or company logo. And clean boots. Suspenders instead of belt. Always have my shirt tucked in. Same for who ever I hire to pilot me as well or they are sent down the road. Hard hat is clean no stickers al over it. And I carry spare safety vest with me incase mine gets dirty or torn.

I think I need to get some suspenders, I'm getting so fat I can't even see my belt to buckle it! Lol. I imagine that is an easier solution than losing weight:rolleyes::D

I love my dickies and Levi's. My usual get up is a pair of dickies or Levi's tucked into my Irish setter wellingtons. Plain colored long sleeve shirt with a short sleeve over that.

Summer time is blue dicky shorts and Wellington boots. I'll wear sneakers in the truck driving but before i hop out I slip the boots on
