Proud owner of an '88 378 Peterbilt with a Cummins 588. Currently no transmission, no driveshaft, and needing an inframe to solve the oil pressure dropping. Frames getting sandblasted too, and needs virgin rubber and four new rims.

I know what I'd do with that truck! Slap a stainless reefer bed and make an rv out of it.
-
BINGO! I was going to do that with my '85 359 daycab, but ran out of steam. I've seen some mount a pull camper on the back, be an easy job. As far as power, if you go the RV route, there's no need for a big diesel, a Dodge RAM or even an LS motor would be more friendly. They were good trucks.RockinChair and Bean Jr. Thank this.

I'd stick with a 12.7 Detroit. Bobtailing, my mileage rivals dually pickups.201 Thanks this.

I want your dually. My ram gets 7 lol.....i blame the fact with all the crap on it it weighs 9876 pounds sitting.

No, I don't have a dually. I meant my truck gets better mileage bobtailing than most duallies getOxbow Thanks this.
